How clean is the air in your building / home?
Indoor air contamination is a serious health hazard affecting thousands of Americans yearly. Researchers claim that it contributes to more than half of all illnesses, including: sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, asthma and many more.
Surprisingly, hundreds of contaminants thrive in the warm indoor environment. Well known household pollutants, for example: mold, dust, pollen, and animal and insect remains. Heating and cooling systems are perfect collection areas for airborne pollutants like mold spores and dust and the moist, temperate environment is also a prime habitat for bacteria and fungi to develop, continuing the contamination process.
Reducing the sources of pollutants that could trigger a health reaction is an important part of keeping the atmospheres' air clean. Cleaning and maintaining the heating and cooling system on a regular basis will remove allergens like mold and dust from the air distribution system, which services all indoor environments.

Why clean your furnace?
Most furnace manufacturers will recommend that you should have your furnace serviced and cleaned annually, to maintain peak efficiency and to ensure that your furnace operates safely. The reality is, that forgetting to clean and or service a furnace until a problem occurs is very common.
Having your furnace periodically cleaned and checked over can also save you money in the long run by having small problems identified and taken care of before they become bigger problems in the future, such as expensive breakdowns with motors and failing heat exchangers and so forth.
Choosing Meyer Duct Cleaning to clean your furnace is an excellent choice, because Meyer Duct Cleaning technicians are well rounded in furnace and air duct cleaning for the HVAC field. Many other air duct cleaning companies that perform furnace cleanings may send a carpet cleaner or a person improperly trained for heating and air, to be exposed to a technical realm that he or she may not be prepared for.
Why clean your dryer ducts?

Over 15,000 dryer vent fires occur each year. These dryer fires result in approximately 20 deaths, 370 injuries and over $75 million in property damage annually.
Did you know that dryer vent fires are more common than chimney fires? Flammable lint, dirt and dust accumulate quite rapidly inside the dryer vent (the lint screen does not catch all of it). Sometimes birds build flammable nests in dryer vents which will cause a fire. We have the expertise and equipment necessary to clean your dryer vent.

FAQ:
Is duct cleaning messy or dirty?
No, we have ways of keeping disturbance of dust to a minimum. Our guys are careful of your floors and walls while they work and you will not need to have your house cleaned when we are finished.
Is it noisy?
It is not noisy inside the house, although the power vac truck is running outside the home during the cleaning.
Do I need to leave the home while it is being done?
No, there is no need to leave the home during the process. The process and the technician are very neat and tidy, and no chemicals are used that would force anyone to leave the house. The technician will turn off the furnace or central air conditioner prior to cleaning the ducts, so could cool the home temperature down some in the winter, and make it warmer in the summer. If there is anyone within the home that may be sensitive to the temperature change, consider finding an alternative location for that particular person throughout the cleaning.
How long does it take?
An average size house takes somewhere between 1.5 to 3 hours. Larger house take longer, but we will stay until the job is finished with no additional charges.
Do I need to move anything?
Just make sure that none of your vents are covered by extremely heavy furniture, like a bookcase or a waterbed. Most everything else we can easily maneuver around.
How often should I clean my air ducts?
This is really personal preference. If nobody in your home suffers from severe allergies or asthma, and no remodeling has been done recently, every three years or so is great.
